Leading from the cottages are a number of walking and safe cycling tracks that allow you to enjoy the surrounding bushland and local area.
Pomonal is centrally located allowing visitors to explore the Grampians National Park, Halls Gap, wineries, Lake Fyans and former gold mining areas.
Pomonal Village has a general store serving good coffee, an olive grove including a gourmet café, wineries and artists wares.
Barney’s Bar and Bistro is located 200 metres from the cottages at the entrance to our driveway, close enough to wander down for a meal.
Pomonal is located 10 minutes drive to Halls Gap and a short drive to the towns of Stawell and Ararat that both have good shopping and a number of tourist attractions.
The Grampians
No trip to Pomonal Cottages would be complete without a visit to the Grampians National Park. The Grampians offers spectacular views, plenty of waterfalls, a huge array of walking tracks and aboriginal art sites. You will be dazzled by the spectacular beauty of the region, whilst being immersed amongst native wildlife such as kangaroos and emus along with the spectacular wildflowers of the region. You will need more than a day to explore the many offerings of the Grampians.

Plenty of dining options are available in the Pomonal and Halls Gap Region. Whether you are looking for a snack, romantic dinner or International feast, the Pomonal and Halls Gap region has you covered. Local Produce
Pomonal is renown for artisan produce and locally manufactured goods. Pomonal General Store and Cafe offers a great array of locally sourced produce, which is also only a short walk from the cottages via the rear walking track. Red Rock Olives and Cafe is another institution to visit, which is a pleasant stroll away from the Cottages. Five Ducks Farm nearby offers home made ice-cream and preserves to die for, whilst Kerries Kreations and chocolates will leave you screaming for more.
Wineries
No trip to Pomonal Cottages is complete without a visit to Pomonal Estate, a handy 14 minute walk away. Here are a few more options to wet your whistle: • Fallen Giants - Pomonal • Paper Scissors Rock Brewing Company – Halls Gap • Seppelts Great Western. Ask at reception for the full Grampians wine map, complete with 14 different winery options or why not take all the hard work out of it and join Grampians Wine Tours, who have plenty of options for all wine, beer or cider lovers.
Family Fun
Pomonal Cottages is only a six minute drive from the famous Halls Gap Zoo. Fishing & Adventure
Lake Fyans is only a 10 minute drive from Pomonal Cottages and offers great fishing as well as a great family swimming area, "Kelley's Beach". Lake Bellfield, Lake Lonsdale and Lake Wartook are also great places to hook a trout or view stunning birdlife. If 4WDing is your cup of tea, the Grampians area has plenty of options for amateur 4WDers through to hard core nail biting tracks for avid enthusiasts.
